The American Massage Therapy Association is celebrating the week of October 19th to October 25th to raise awareness about the benefits of massage. This week is designed to raise public awareness of the benefits of therapeutic massage and encourage Americans to seek massage therapy for stress relief, pain management and general health.

The foot rollers are very strong.  Is this normal?

A:

Reflexology tends to be an aggressive form of therapy based on the rigors our feet typically endure daily.  As stated above, like any form of therapy, moderation should be heeded during initial sessions using lower time intervals, as well as having days off between your first few massages.  The strength of the foot massage can also be reduced by turning down the airbag pressure. This will result with less pressure pressing the soles of your feet down onto the rollers.  Additionally users may wear a heavy pair of socks or use a small towel under each sole initially to help provide cushioning for a more enjoyable foot massage.
